Description

General Purpose of Job:
To support the Head Women’s Wrestling Coach in establishing and successfully coaching a wrestling program within the guidelines of the Grand View University Athletic Department that adheres to the mission of the college.

Essential Functions of Job:

1. Assist the Head Wrestling Coach in developing a successful Wrestling Program.

   1. Conduct recruitment activities in accordance with NAIA rules and regulations.
   2. Establish an effective schedule for practices, meets and tournaments.
   3. Organize and help conduct all wrestling related tournaments, duals, and clinics
   4. Manage all training activities for student-athletes to ensure proper preparation for the wrestling season.
   5. Promote attendance at wrestling events by providing information for students, faculty, staff and the public.
   6. Assist the athletic sports information office to maintain information on the web page and coordinate television, print and radio information.
   7. Assist with all fundraising activities.

2. Perform other athletic administrative duties as assigned.

3. Follow university procedures associated with the purchase of equipment.

4. Maintain confidentiality

5. Participate in continuing education as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
2. Successful coaching experience at the high school or college level required.
3. Ability to interact with students, parents, admission staff, and the public in a positive way.
4. Experience or demonstrated ability to contribute to serving diverse student populations.
