Job Description

Assists Head Coach in managing and executing administrative and athletic functions of coaching a collegiate team. Establishes and maintains team rules and expectations. Coaches, trains, and develops individual players and their skills. Recruits prospective student-athletics, coordinates visits, and plans travel itineraries for the team. Reviews recorded video and creates scouting reports. Manages and creates content to promote the team and the University and engages with alumni. Specialty in either foil or epee, with a strong preference for epee. Candidates would lead a weapon squad in practice when they are able to attend practice. They would create footwork, drills, and bouting games for their squad. Coaches could also give individual lessons either during practice or before or after, if they are able to give extra time.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Head Coach with practice and match planning. Develops training sessions for Denison athletes and provides athletes with feedback and direction. Develops strategy for future opponents and analyzes film and creates scouting reports. 

  • Create drills, footwork, and bouting games for their weapon squad 

  • Attend practice and work with the weapon squad.

  • Give lessons to members of their weapon squad in practice and out of practice. 

  • Travel to tournaments 

  • Reinforces team and University rules and expectations. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
