Under the general supervision of the Head Golf Coach, this coach oversees all phases of training for respective athletes, is an ambassador for SUA athletics and preside over recruiting prospective student-athletes for both men and women in the sport of golf at Soka University of America.
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Assist the head coach in the management and oversight on different aspects of the men’s golf program
Included leading and organizing practice sessions, assistant in skill development and on course coaching
Preparing athletes for all aspects of competition in both men and women’s golf programs.
Ability to expertly teach event specific skills.
Support and advise all athletes regardless of the athlete’s level of experience.
Help create a competitive team schedule, arrange transportation for athletes and athletic staff, transport implements, manage team travel, arrange hotel accommodations, and supervise athletes during away tournaments
Provide athletes with year-round training programs that include both a strength plan and a conditioning plan.
Advise student-athletes in all phases of preparation and competition including strength and conditioning, mental preparedness, etc.
Maintain a high level of discipline/expectation for the student-athletes representing the University in collegiate competition.
Operate within the confines of NAIA bylaws for recruiting, eligibility, and competition.
Facilitate community outreach programs and engage in public speaking on behalf of the institution.

Qualifications:
Education
Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree.
Experience
Background in the sport of Golf
Recent experience in coaching at high school, collegiate level or beyond
Skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students and staff
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills
The anticipated rate for this position is $20.00 – $25.00 per hour and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
