REPORTS TO: Women’s Head Soccer Coach and Athletic Director
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
LOCATION: Bernice Hansen Athletic Center | Athletic Fields, Grand Rapids, MI
SUMMARY: The individual in this position is responsible for assisting in some aspects of the Cornerstone University Women’s Soccer program. This may include but is not limited to coaching team members, scheduling, training, monitoring academic progress, recruiting, and fundraising. This position will support the head coach in the operation of the program.
COMPENSATION: General stipend offered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out some aspects of the Women’s Soccer program necessary to accomplish the objectives of the sport within the university, athletic department, WHAC, and NAIA rules and regulations
Model commitment to Christian character and the Community Covenant standards in behavior and interactions with athletes, coaches, and officials
Fulfill various game day management responsibilities as assigned by the head coach
Orient and enforce student athlete adherence to the policies and regulations of the university and athletic department
Prepare practice schedules in coordination with head coach
Lead, monitor, and coordinate training and practice sessions, ensuring that all safety guidelines and standards are maintained
Help plan and administer off-season training programs
Provide special training for individual team members as required
Help to support spiritual and academic growth in partnership with head coach
Help head coach recruit and retain highly skilled Christian student-athletes for the Women’s Soccer team
Scout high school games and club games for potential recruits
Correspond with recruits via email, letters, texts, and phone calls
Manage social media platforms for the program
Perform other duties as assigned
18 hours/week maximum, up to 936 hours/year maximum
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree required
Successful experience in coaching soccer
Success in a high school or collegiate program as a player
Strong organization and communication skills
Ability to recruit Christian student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment
