Apply NowThe Interior Maintenance Technician performs routine cleaning and maintenance of Sports Complex facilities and buildings. Performs duties relating to preparation for scheduled University sponsored events.
Ø Performs routine cleaning chores such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and restroom maintenance of all assigned buildings and areas.
Ø Assist in moving and rearranging furniture and bulk items.
Ø Empty trash, garbage containers, dust shelves and office furniture.
Ø Vacuum floors and carpets.
Ø Clean restrooms and replenish bathroom supplies.
Ø Assist in setting up facilities for special events.
Ø May serve as a University driver in driving institutional vehicles for various purposes, including pickup (loading and unloading) and delivery (loading and unloading) as needed.
Ø Delivery distribution of cleaning supplies to on campus cleaning crew locations.
Ø Assist Post Office staff in delivery of large packages as needed.
Ø Other duties as assigned.
Ø A high school diploma or GED is required.
Ø Ability to read and compute mixing of chemical solutions.
Ø Ability to speak and read English fluently.
Ø Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
Ø May be required to wear protective clothing.
Ø May be exposed to chemical, mechanical or electrical hazards.
Ø Must possess a driver’s license and adhere to the WWU vehicle policy.
Ø Ability to communicate effectively.
Ø Physically able to go up and down open stairs while carrying heavy equipment, furniture, etc.
Ø Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds
Ø Ability to work on knees while scrubbing floors, etc.
Ø Effective mobility skills required to move about freely and quickly in office and on campus.
Hours will be discussed with the student worker(s).
