Position Summary:
Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate to be a Part-Time Sports Performance Coach working with Olympic Sports. This 6-month, benefits ineligible, temporary position will be responsible for coaching and monitoring sports performance programs for assigned Olympic sports student-athletes and teams, under the guidance of the Director of Sports Performance for Olympic Sports, and the Coaching Assistant/Intern Program Director for Olympic Sports Performance.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Health Sciences or related field
· Current NSCA CSCS or CSCCa SCCC certification
· Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience working with NCAA collegiate athletics teams
· Current CPR/First Aid Certification required
· The candidate must also possess strong organizational and communications skills
· Demonstrated experience working with male and female athletes across multiple teams in various areas of sports performance, including advanced speed development, weight training techniques, and energy system development programs
· Demonstrated familiarity working with athlete monitoring and training technology such as VBT systems, Catapult, force plates, wellness and readiness tracking systems, etc.
Essential Functions:
· Cover multiple teams during the 2024-2025 academic year
· Assist current staff with monitoring and maintenance of the Scott Family Athletics Performance Facility
· Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Olympic Sports Performance, and the Coaching Assistant/Intern Program Director for Olympic Sports Performance.
· Participate in ongoing individual and group professional development activities
· Collaborate with athletic medicine, sports nutrition, and mental health and performance staff to provide comprehensive support for the Duke student-athlete experience
· All duties must be performed in compliance with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
