The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for a Performance Dietitian to oversee all aspects of nutrition related to wellness and performance for the Gators Lacrosse and Baseball teams. This position will work in conjunction with the performance team to educate student-athletes on appropriate nutrition for optimum health and superior athletic performance. Having an appropriate presence at practices, meals, weightlifting and conditioning sessions is required. Primary responsibilities include nutrition education and outreach to student-athletes, coaches, and staff. This includes individual/team nutrition counseling and educational services to student-athletes. This position will work closely with Director of Operations for each sport and the food service staff to provide nutritionally appropriate meals to fuel student-athletes. Regular and timely communication with athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, sport coaches, physicians, and student-athletes are required. Reviewing and evaluating current dietetic literature to make appropriate recommendations regarding proper nutrition for student-athletes is expected. Additional departmental duties as assigned.

Effective communication (written and verbal), presentation, and computer skills
Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds and with high energy, intense personalities
Ability to work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel
Experience in an intercollegiate or professional athletics program
Willingness to obtain the CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics) certification
