Under general direction of the Associate Vice President for Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Officer will be responsible for securing major gifts ($15,000 - $1M+) for the university, and for managing a prospect/donor portfolio in various stages of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift prospects.
Identify prospects to participate on boards, committees or other programs that promote the cultivation process.
Serve as an advisor to the Dean and the faculty to implement and develop a comprehensive communication plan for all fund-raising initiatives.
Manage portfolios of fundraising prospects and manage relationships through face-to-face visits to bring major gift solicitations to closure.
Support and collaborate with assigned unit(s) on programmatic planning and effective communication.
Participate in signature events at the University and in the community that provide opportunities for strategic engagement with prospects and donors.
Represent the Philanthropy team in external settings, such as conferences and gatherings.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum of one (1) year of progressive development experience
Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
Bachelor’s degree with two years of job-related experience.
