Position Description:
The Sports Photographer I (Photographer) is a professional photographer that is responsible for shooting live game action as well as department events and studio shoot subjects at a broadcast level.
The Photographer will be required to work a non-standard workweek, including nights, weekends, and holidays and Travel with assigned sports as needed for postseason and occasional regular season priority games (Approximately 25%).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Photograph game action and studio work, etc. for assigned sports and athletic events.
Deliver images in real time and immediately following games for web and social use; edit, process and archive images.
Studio shoots: Scheduling, all pre-production, post-production editing, processing, and archiving.
Travel with assigned sports as needed for postseason and occasional regular season priority games (Approximately 25%).
Qualified Candidates Must: Have a Valid Driver’s License with the ability to be insured by University insurance carrier.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient digital editing skills and experience with tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom) and Photo Mechanic
Ability to produce high quality work under tight deadlines.
Knowledge of NCAA rules
Knowledge of all sports in which Louisville Athletics participates.
Experience capturing group photos and effectively managing large and small groups of subjects in a variety of settings.
Thorough understanding of natural and studio lighting
Competence with professional grade camera equipment systems (e.g., Canon)
Experience archiving photos using PhotoShelter, Extensis Portfolio, or similar software, to create photo archives.
