The Photographer position is responsible for creating and producing photography projects for LSU Athletics for all 21 sports sponsored by LSU.
95% Responsible for photography, live transmit, and delivery of edited photos for select events, practices, as well as “behind-the-scenes” opportunities for all sports and departments. Work closely with the communications, digital media and marketing departments to help fulfill any needs before, during and after games. Assist with all photo shoots, head shots, and portraits as needed, including the setup and take down of equipment. Work with the Athletic staff on social media opportunities, providing photos for platforms Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Assist with the management of he athletic photo archive, including the sorting of all images into the digital photo drive, as well as the scanning and cataloging of historical photos. Coordinate the framing and hanging of photographs in all athletic facilities. Develop imagery that reflect the LSU Athletics brand and are consistent with the department’s communications goals. Schedule, manage and prioritize digital graphic design pieces.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department diversity and inclusion initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Works collaboratively with the Office of Communications and University Relations and adheres to the standards set therein; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in photography, multimedia or other relevant communications field; One year of relevant experience; Ability to take photos, edit, and transmit in a timely manner and based on specific requirements; Experience with Apple/Mac computers; Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Lightroom), Photo Mechanic, and off camera lighting. Preferred Qualifications
Completion in course work in the field of photography, journalism, digital media, mass communication or a related field is preferred; Experience with professional or collegiate sports teams is preferred.
Special or Physical Qualifications
Ability and willingness to work extended days, weekends and holidays. Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires incumbent to stand for extended periods. They must also be capable to stoop, kneel and crouch.
