Job Description
The Producer will be responsible for creating and developing content (including scripts) for live ACC Network sporting events, Coaches Shows, special segments, special interest stories and other athletic department programming used to promote BC athletics. The position will assist with other important aspects of Boston College’s ACC Network broadcasts. This includes production planning, production and collaborating with External Affairs, Athletic Communications and Interactive Media on the dissemination of content post production.
This position is responsible for identifying and selecting (under the direction of the Executive Producer) professional game day personnel that will produce all live broadcasts. These staff members also include play by play announcers and color commentators. This responsibility also includes staying within a game day production budget given by the Assoc. Athletic Director- Technology and Broadcast Services. The Producer will also be asked to train production staff and supervise the progress of a live broadcast or taped project from pre-production to post-production.
In addition, the position will also be responsible for using creative production techniques to enhance all network content. He/She must be able to collaborate with the network Director, other producers, engineers and other key participants about production details and to help facilitate the creation of the “run of show” for live broadcasts and all multimedia content. Additionally, the Producer must be able to operate (and instruct others) a camera and be able to record and edit video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, media management and archiving project media. The Producer must also be knowledgeable of the changing landscape of live broadcasts with respect to what’s new and accepted in the industry.
Flexible daily work schedule. Evening and weekend schedule relates directly to athletic events and other university event schedules. This position includes working on holidays.
This position works in multiple types of environments – office, production room, as well as outdoors acquiring video footage/content. In addition, this position is responsible for lifting video equipment which may be as heavy as 45-50 lbs.

Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and full-time equivalent hiring ranges:
- Producer: $82,100 - $102,650; 5+ years related professional experience
- Associate Producer: $74,450 - $93,050; 1-5 years experience
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required
Master's preferred
Formal Experience/Education in Athletic Management is a plus
Certified in Crestron Control Systems is a plus
5+ years of experience in the broadcasting industry
4+ years of producing/directing linear and digital broadcasts
3+ years experience in video control room environment
3+ years experience in script contributing or writing.
Evening and weekend work is mandatory. These demands are primarily centered on athletic competitions.
