Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proactively and effectively address the equipment needs of all the department's intercollegiate athletic programs including monitoring and maintaining an inventory system for all orders, long-term planning for Equipment unit and future equipment needs for all sport programs
Ability to work well and communicate effectively with students, athletes, the public, management and fellow employees
Ability to multi task and problem solve efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Assisting with the recruitment of Men’s and Women's Basketball athletes
Assist in the personal growth of the Men’s and Women's Basketball student-athletes
Serves as liaison for all scheduled events in the JHFC
Assist with coordinating game day officials, contracts and additional administrative services
Assist with ensuring full compliance with all AIHEC, Title IX, and institutional policies, as well as other external rules and regulations
Sustain a culture of excellence and continuous improvement throughout all aspects of the Basketball Program with a high-level of integrity and a strong focus on living our core values. (Service, Curiosity, Respect, Accountability and Appreciation)
Assist with the collaborating with other college personnel and the local community to coordinate tournaments, special events and any gym facility usage
Responsible for assisting with the scheduling of practices, games and team travel arrangements
Responsible for assisting with coverage for all home athletic events
Create a positive, inclusive, and equitable environment for all student-athletes
Assist with collaborating with Alumni personnel to develop events including alumni games
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills and a proven track record of developing successful competitive sports programs
Two years of intercollegiate athletics experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Maintains appropriate First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of AIHEC rules and regulations
Knowledge of fundraising and coordinating/planning fundraising events
Certified Peer Education
