Job Description:
Responsible for coaching, recruiting, scheduling of the University’s intercollegiate Division III Nationally Competitive Soccer program. Teaches activity classes and a second assignment within the Athletic Department is required.
Recruits qualified student athletics according to TU Admissions Office guidelines.
Assists, in cooperation with the Head Men’s Soccer Coach, all aspects of coaching and administering a Division III Men’s Soccer program.
Helps manage expenditures within the budget.
Assists the Head Coach of the intercollegiate Division III Men’s Soccer.
Teaches activity classes.
Makes appropriate arrangements for travel to out of town contests.
Helps raise funds to supplement the budget.
Assumes position of second assignment in the Athletic Department as determined by the Athletic Director.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Abides by NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer rules and regulations.
Remains “on-call” for student-athletes needs 24/7, nights and weekends. Requires extensive travel and time during the regular season and during the recruiting season.
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred: Master's degree from an accredited institution.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Six months of college soccer coaching experience. College and professional athlete experience counts toward required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred: Three years of college coaching experience at the intercollegiate level and/or any equivalent combination of experience and training (educational courses, etc.) that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Prior experience with budget reconciliation is strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
Effectiveness in the recruitment of student athletes and the instructional aspects of coaching.
NCAA rules (General & Division III).
Coaching, recruiting, scouting, and scheduling.
Budgeting, fundraising, and travel planning.
Management, leadership, and teaching.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Detail-oriented and well organized.
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and database creation and maintenance is essential. Strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Critical thinking skills, adaptability, and initiative.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required: Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and have a good driving history. May not have more than two moving violations in a three-year period.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
All jobs require a current Criminal Background Check (CBC).
This job requires at least 60-80 hours a week minimum during the entire school year.
Must be willing to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
