The individual will be responsible for maintaining NCAA, CIAA and University compliance. The individual will assist in fundraising and committee assignments as assigned. The individual will be responsible for recruitment, retention, and skill training as it relates to developing a successful NCAA Division II Cross-Country/Track & Field program. Essential Job Functions:

• Assists in developing the physical skills of student athletes in the sport of track & field.
• Critiques and provides feedback on student athletes’ strengths and weaknesses as related to athletic ability.
• As applicable, establishes depth charts of athlete’s athletic ability on current student athletes and prospective recruits.
• Assists in attracting quality NCAA Division II athletes or better to become members of the cross-country and track and field team.
• Monitors academic progress of student athletes (i.e., study table, progress reports, mid-term grades, and tutorial sessions).
• Monitors nutrition of student athletes.
• All other related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning or a related discipline required.
• A minimum of one year cross-country/track & field coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
• Required knowledge of:
  • NCAA Rules Compliance (Division II)
  • NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse Procedures
  • Cross-Country/Track & Field Rules & Regulations
  • Cross-Country/Track & Field statistical knowledge
  • Film exchange
  • Recruiting Rules Compliance

Strong oral and written presentation skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must have valid driver’s license with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check. Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.
