The Athletics Department is seeking a Quality Control Analyst – Special Teams. This is a full-time (1.00FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The mission of the
OSU
Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
Reporting to the Head Football Coach, the Quality Control Analyst provides support to the football coaches to enhance the quality and efficiency of day-to-day operations and is primarily responsible for assisting with special teams preparation. The successful candidate must have the ability and knowledge to understand special teams schemes, create detailed reports tracking special teams data, and complete daily office tasks. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with special teams planning; assisting coaches in the breakdown of each opponent’s special teams game plan schemes; assisting with the maintenance of weekly, seasonal self-scout/quality control documents; and other duties as assigned.

PRACTICE
ANALYSIS
Attends practice for observational purposes only. Provides feedback to coaches specific to special teams scheme and strategy, using real time observation data and practice film analysis. Assists coaches in evaluating strengths and weakness of special teams personnel as rosters are developed throughout the year, out of season, and then each week while in season. Provides feedback daily regarding the progression of each special teams student-athlete relative to game time strategies deployed.

OPPONENT
ANALYSIS
Utilizes most recent and best practice protocols for assisting with statistical analysis on special teams opponents’ trends and tendencies. Utilizes game film and other resources to chart statistics for coaches to utilize in practice and in game settings as well. Assists the coaches with providing the best delivery methods for each student-athlete as well dependent on individual learning styles.

RECRUITING
Assists with the on-campus recruiting process. Provides the team with creativity and input throughout the recruiting process to maintain the culture around the team.
Bachelor’s degree.
Two (2) years of coaching experience in college Football.
Knowledge of special teams schemes, practice and game plans, special teams play books and game books at the Division 1 level.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Ability to make swift decisions in a highly stressful environment.

Prior D1 Experience as a Special Teams Quality Control Coach or Special Teams Coordinator
Must work some evenings and weekends.
