Trinity College in Hartford CT, an NCAA Division III, liberal arts and sciences college in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), is seeking to fill a full-time, Assistant Director of Facilities, Rink Manager position within the Athletic Department.Trinity sponsors 30 varsity teams and supports over 700 varsity student-athletes. Trinity College seeks a staff that reflects the changing demographics of our student body. As a preeminent liberal arts college in an urban setting, Trinity College prepares students to be bold, independent thinkers who lead transformative lives.Responsibilities include: Assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities with the oversight, operation and maintenance of all athletic facilities and fields. Maintaining the ice surface and ensure the ice condition is up to safe and professional standards. Schedule, coordinate, and manage practices, games, tournaments and other events occurring at the Koeppel Community Sports Center, as well as schedule and provide pricing to outside groups and organizations. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Koeppel Community Sports Center. Maintain and repair rink machinery and inspect basic HVAC/plumbing utilities for normal operation. Serve as the point of contact for Emergency Services, outside vendors, customers and provide relevant information to the Assistant Athletic Director. The Assistant Director will be expected to help promote and facilitate the College and Athletic Department’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. This position also requires both early morning and weekend availability throughout the academic year.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Equivalent education, training and rink management experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Qualified candidates must have at least one year of experience as an ice rink manager in year-round, full-service ice operation. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and customer service skills.
