About the Job:
The Turf Shop is primarily responsible for field readiness for all our NDSU athletic complexes, but also includes turf maintenance and projects for perimeter areas around the athletic complexes. Currently there are some exciting changes happening to a number of athletic complexes like the new Nodak Insurance Football Performance Complex coming up just West of University, the new outdoor track facility on the West side of campus just North of 15th Ave, and a new Rugby Field renovation just West of 18th Street. The Turf Shop is comprised of a group of hard-working staff, and we take pride in our work. For those individuals that are turf majors or those interested in lawn care careers or the athletic turf maintenance industry, this is an especially great learning opportunity for you. It is a well-rounded position with gained experience in irrigation systems, artificial turf maintenance, real turf maintenance, field setup, mowing and other agronomic practices, and equipment operation to name a few. Also, if you like being outside and just enjoy working with turf, this job is for you.
We try to have fun, but we work safely and efficiently to make sure we are meeting the needs of the different NDSU athletic sports groups. The right person should have a can-do attitude, come to work on time ready to work and ready to learn new things. Equipment experience with mowers, string trimmers, tractors, skid loaders is preferred, but not required as you will be trained. This is a great opportunity to be a part of NDSU Bison Athletics and our Facilities Management Mission from a maintenance perspective. We hope you will join our Turf Maintenance team for the upcoming season to help us continue making improvements and create aesthetic appeal to our real and artificial turf areas on campus.
