Job Duties

| Description of Job Duties |
- Provides leadership to assigned areas of the Intercollegiate Athletic Programs, which includes the department’s business, facilities, and game operations units;
- Assists the Athletic Director in establishing overall athletics goals, objectives, and strategies; develops and implements programs and activities to accomplish goals while improving the image of the university;
- Supervises and manages sports programs and respective coaching staff as assigned by Athletic Director;
- Serves as a member of the Athletic Department’s senior staff and leads department efforts in Athletic Director’s absence;
- Serves as the department’s liaison to the University Human Resources, IT, and Facilities Departments;
- Interacts with coaches and student-athletes to resolve student-athlete welfare issues and serves as the department liaison to the campus Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability;
- Oversees the APR reporting process in conjunction with the compliance office, certification specialist, and athletic advisors; ensures degree progress academic records are input into the NCAA Compliance Assistance Portal for APR reporting;
- Tracks academic progress for APR purposes;
- Communicates with athletics administrators, coaches, and student-athletes regarding department functions, policies, and procedures;
- Serves as the department liaison to numerous campus partners, including but not limited to Residence Life and Housing, Campus Dining, and another other campus departments/offices;
- Serves as the department liaison to the campus Office of Title IX and leads department gender equity efforts;
- Serves and at-times leads hiring committees of coaches and athletic administrators;
- Acts as an official representative of the university at institutional, Conference and NCAA meetings, as requested by the Athletic Director;
- Serves on committees and task forces, as required;
- Ensures compliance with institutional, NCAA, and conference regulations;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
- Strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook or similar;
- Ability to provide effective leadership and direction;
- Ability to effectively and creatively manage complex issues, supervise staff, develop, analyze and monitor complicated budgets;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to effectively perform with limited direction;
- Ability to interact with individuals at all levels in the department, the university and the university community;
- Enthusiastic self-starter that consistently exercises sound judgment;
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Bachelor’s Degree.

| Required Work Experience |
- Five (5) years of relevant athletics administration experience at the intercollegiate level;
- Two (2) years of leadership or supervisory responsibilities in a complex office or relevant environment.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Master’s Degree;
- Seven (7) years of experience in collegiate athletics in administration.
|
| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

| Work Hours |
Business hours of Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility; extended hours as required, including weekends, evenings and some holidays based on schedule of assigned teams.

| Physical Demands |
- Ability to lift up to 45lbs of materials.
- Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve materials and equipment.
- Ability to actively engage in pregame, during game, and post-game activities for extended periods of time.
- Ability to regularly move about campus and sport venues, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
