Oversees strategy development and execution of Cleveland State University (
CSU
) Athletic activities in marketing, promotions, advertising, content creation, licensing, brand engagement, communications, and digital media. Responsible for administrative oversight of multiple varsity sport programs. Maintains strategic management of media rights, licensing activities, and community outreach efforts. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in sport management, marketing, communications, business, or related field.
Five (5) years of multi-unit experience in intercollegiate athletics, higher education or professional sports in marketing, promotions, ticket sales, fundraising and/or communications.
Two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under
CSU
Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Master’s degree preferably in sport management, marketing, communications, business, or related field.
Experience with direct oversight of an external unit at a Division I athletics department.
Experience directly impacting revenue generation and fan engagement.
Experience at multiple sub-levels of
NCAA
Division I, including
FBS
,
FCS
, and/or Division I-
AAA
.
Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with all
NCAA
, and
CSU
rules and regulations.
Ability to deliver a positive student-athlete experience.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery.
Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans.
Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
Ability to be flexible regarding daily work schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to travel.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
