Collaborate and communicate with the athletic department staff and varsity sport coaches to provide sports nutrition guidance as well as identify athletes that require nutrition education and counseling for health optimization, performance and recovery.
Participate in the Health and Wellness Committee as well as Housing Committee.
Menu Development & Food Safety
Assist the WUSTL Dining RD Nutrition team with menu planning, recipe review, audits and management of nutrition and allergen processes related to identification, labeling, accuracy and consistency.
Collaborate and communicate with the Asst. Director of Food Procurement and the Campus Executive chef to ensure the compliance of food safety procedures including food safety and food allergen protocol, maintaining communication of this to WUSTL Dining Leadership team, culinary staff, and campus partners. Document food product recalls; responsible to make sure all recalled items are removed from use; and make recommendations about when and if to re-introduce those items into inventory.
Respond to any food emergencies (including food borne illness reports as well as food allergy reactions) occurring in WUSTL Dining operations on campus. Complete student assessment for reported incidents, documents occurrence, and provides communication to both culinary and management team as well as student health services.
Programming and Presentations
Collaborate with the WUSTL Dining RD Nutrition team members to identify, develop, promote and present nutrition education sessions, staff training support and other initiatives for WUSTL dining across campus programs and dining locations. Examples may include food allergy orientation seminars, cooking classes, sports nutrition performance talks/workshops, and staff trainings.
Participate in active learning, attending workshops, continuing education, conferences to help identify new products, laws or regulations for the purpose of recommending new items and initiatives on campus.
Supervision
Supervise a full-time registered dietitian, serve as a team member to oversee and precept dietetic interns and nutrition student workers.
Actively contribute to the team by performing other duties as needed in support of the department’s mission and goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous working experience with eating disorders.
Master’s Degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field.
Three years full time working experiences as a Credentialed Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Relevant work experience in food service operations.
Experience counseling related to food allergies.
Experience working in an educational setting .
Ability to work independently, be highly motivated and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage multiple priority projects and exhibit superior organizational skills.
Work collaboratively in a team setting.
Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, parents, and guests.
Ability to effectively communicate and lead discussions with department staff, campus partners, and customers.
Proficient in software/program skills- Microsoft office suite, survey tools, social media platforms, and WordPress.
Effective time management and problem solving.

Required Qualifications
Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian in the State of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on work location, is required.
At least two years' work experience in adult or pediatric dietetics.

Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience.
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
