Loyola Marymount University (LMU) seeks an energetic and innovative advancement professional to serve as Senior Vice President for University Advancement (SVP). The SVP will be a proven leader with a bold vision to lead and support a creative and forward-looking fundraising organization and university.
The SVP will guide and advance the philanthropic efforts of the university and will steward the University’s comprehensive campaign. The successful candidate will engage and foster productive relationships with colleagues in the various university colleges, schools, centers, institutes, and programs and enhance the institutional culture of philanthropy. The SVP will also have extensive experience in the areas of campaign planning and execution, team management, and major and principal gift fundraising.

The SVP is a member of the President’s Cabinet and provides support to the Campaign Committee of the Board of Trustees.

Compliance Expectations
Ensure compliance in all University Advancement activities with respect to all federal, state, and local compliance standards, including but not limited to: Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Higher Education Act of 2008 (HEOA); Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP);the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act); and NCAA, Conference, and University Rules governing intercollegiate sport programs: (a) conduct all aspects of programs in accordance with the rules and policies established by Loyola Marymount University, the Athletics Department, all Sports Conference Affiliations, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA); (b) complete all rules compliance information as required; (c) participate in an annual evaluation of adherence to rules compliance (LMU, Athletic Department, Sports Conference Affiliations, NCAA); and (d) conduct evaluation of adherence to rules compliance (LMU, Athletic Department, Sports Conference Affiliations, NCAA) with all assigned staff on an annual basis.
This position requires a combination of skills, education and experience to perform the responsibilities described, with a minimum of the following:
Proven ability to manage a variety of development operations, motivate and develop staff to potential, develop budgets, and design and manage efficient business processes
Demonstrated ability to provide effective long term vision and leadership in a changing higher education environment
Ability to maintain productive relationships with all constituents—internal, donors, potential donors, alumni, parents, community, and appropriate other entities
Exemplary communication skills (written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating business trends, industry trends

Salary Range: $381,000 to $557,000 annually depending upon experience.
