About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Special Assistant to the Head Coach assists and advises the Women's Basketball Head Coach with all aspects of practice and game day.
Essential Functions:
Attend practice and oversee graduate assistants and team managers.
Analyze practice and game film as needed to assist the head coach and Director of Scouting and Video Analytics.
Assist the Director of Operations with team and recruiting travel and settlement.
Coordinate outside events for the WBB Head Coach including speaking and marketing events, speaking to various campus and community groups when needed on behalf of the program.
Assist in the coordination of official and unofficial visits within the WBB program and the Head Coach.
Special Projects for the women’s basketball program.
Assist in fostering an environment to promote the well-being and success of the student-athletes.
Position requires evening and weekend work for practice and competitions.Position requires travel for games and competitions.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s is required.
A minimum of one year of work experience is required. Experience in college athletics is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. A strong customer service orientation is essential.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Candidate must have the ability to break down film for analysis and write practice plans. Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with and/or a working knowledge of software programs for game film and recruiting is a plus.
