| Job Summary/Basic Function |
Weber State University Spirit Squad is currently looking to hire a qualified Assistant coach for the 2021-22 season. This position directly reports to the Spirit Squad Director. This is a part-time position that will be required to attend practices and coordinating activities throughout the season, cover assigned games and events, manage mascot team, manage team fundraising events and help assist in the development of fundraising activities, enforce all Spirit Squad policies and procedures and team rules, and assist in all spirit squad activities and functions.

* At least 5-10 years technical training
* College cheer experience
* College coaching experience
* Possess knowledge of collegiate dance team rules and regulations and be AACCA certified
Ability to maintain team discipline and instill proper ethical and moral character
Knowledge and experience of basic principles of coaching, training, and team supervision
* Knowledge of all aspects of program management; budgeting, recruiting, scheduling, staff supervision, travel planning, etc.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
* Valid CPR certification, or willingness to obtain once hired
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism with athletes and administration
* Able to provide leadership and be a role model for the team
* Extremely organized, professional and a passion for dance
* Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, as well as, choreograph timeouts, performances and halftime routines
* Ability to represent Weber State University and to communicate effectively in individual and group settings. Ability to work well and cooperate with other coaches, faculty, alumni and supervisory staff in all departments
* Ability to operate within all guidelines and eligibility requirements of Weber State University, the Department of Athletics, and the Big Sky Conference
* Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends
* Ability to travel off-campus (including out of town) as required
