Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Steeped in history and success while embracing strategic innovation, our programs compete at the highest level and strive for national championships. Tech fans are passionate about their support of their beloved Yellow Jackets and cherish the many traditions involved with the program.
This position will contribute directly to the the assigned sport program by building an environment that inspires and empowers student-athletes to be champions in academics, competition, and life.
Job Duty 1 -
Assist coaching staff with the individual and team strengths and developing strategies for skill improvement
Job Duty 2 -
Provide support for all games, scrimmages, and practices while leveraging technology for team development
Job Duty 3 -
Assist in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes to facilitate pursuit of a post secondary/graduate degree
Job Duty 4 -
Assist in recruiting student-athletes for the sports program
Job Duty 5 -
Promote an atmosphere of compliance within the sport program. Cooperate with the athletics compliance office regarding NCAA rules and policies, including reporting requirements. Make a determined effort to utilize available compliance resources
Job Duty 6 -
Assist in the planning and supervising programs for player training, conditioning and drug education and testing. Providing appropriate program safety requirements
Job Duty 7 -
Ensure appropriate discipline for student-athletes for violations of team rules or GY Athletics regulations, or conduct impacting upon team matters, team policies or the reputation of GT Athletics
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
One to two years of coaching experience
ABILITIES
SPECIALIZED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed, potentially including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays
The ability to travel 25% - 50%
