Iowa State University is searching for a dynamic Sports Dietitian II who’s ready to elevate student‑athlete performance through cutting‑edge nutrition strategies, hands‑on education, and a passion for helping young competitors thrive on and off the field. What you’ll do
Provide evidenced-based nutrition services via individualized and team assessment, counseling, and support.
Deliver nutrition education to individuals, teams, recruits and coaches through a variety of methods.
Plan and oversees all team meals and fueling for away competitions. Collaborate with on-site culinary team and off-site food vendors to support execution of fueling services needs.
Oversee procurement, inventory management, monitoring of inventory budget, and food safety standards for assigned sport.
Collect, organize and present data in a way that is useful, collaborate and enhances sports performance decision making: manage student-athletes with high nutritional risk and behaviors, perform DEXA body composition assessments, conduct hydration and/or sweat rate testing, and more as assigned.
Collaborate regularly with team staff and coaches on strategies and needs to enhance player performance.
Lead strategic communication for assigned sport(s).
Assist with identifying disordered eating and referring student to appropriate resources.
Perform all duties in adherence with NCAA, Big 12, and university policies.
The successful candidate must have a good knowledge base of sport nutrition curriculum; possess exceptional communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and help write effective educational materials and presentations; be highly organized; and maintain confidentiality. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to work outside normal business hours with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends and overnight travel with the team. This is an in-person/on-sight position.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
