Benefits other than leave are subject to change by action of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, the University System of Maryland, or the State of Maryland. The minimum benefits to be provided to all Contingent Category II employees, on an annual basis, are listed below. These benefits shall be prorated for contracts of less than one year and for less than full-time employment.
• Health Insurance - Contingent Category II employees may participate in the
State Health Insurance Program and Prescription Plans that are available to
state employees. Additionally, Contingent II employees may participate in
supplemental retirement plans approved by the State of Maryland and the
USM per laws and regulations
• Annual Leave - Five (5) days of accrued annual
• Sick Leave - Three (3) days of accrued sick leave
• Holidays -Eight (8) holidays – New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day,

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all NCAA and conference nominations for assigned sports.
• Serve as media liaison for assigned sports.
• Keep adequate and accurate records for all sports as assigned .
• Compile and maintain all roster information and records as assigned.
• Nominate student-athletes for all national and regional awards.
• Provide all event media and marketing needs for assigned sports.
• Support the Associate Director for External Affairs or designated supervisor
in other related areas as assigned.
Preferences (Qualifications):
• Bachelor's Degree.
• One (1) year working experience in collegiate or high school athletics.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication.
• Technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Must be able to work all home athletic events.
• Demonstrated flexibility and professionalism with a high standard of
personal conduct and integrity.
• Willingness to learn basic graphic design applications and statistical
software.
Preferences (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):
• Ability to learn statistical software for assigned sports
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands:
• May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at
desk.
• May require lifting.
• Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and
internally.
• Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of professional secretarial, clerical, or administrative experience.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of general office procedures, practices, and administrative support functions.
Knowledge of professional business etiquette, including phone, email, and in-person communication protocols.
Skill in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
Skill in written and verbal communication to prepare reports, correspondence, and interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Skill in scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
