Effective immediately: (PT) Sports Information Assistant/Athletic Associate - Wilmington University, New Castle.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is required. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel and be familiar with other Microsoft Office products. Must demonstrate respect for diversity in the workplace and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all times.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Assist the Coordinator of Sports Information with the promotion and publicity of all 16 intercollegiate sports, including cheerleading and E-sports.
• Attend home games and write and edit press releases, game stories, and student-athlete features.
• Assist with the updating of the athletics website, wildcats.athletics.wilmu.edu, using the PrestoSports web client.
• Be the official scorer and inputter for multiple sports using NCAA Live Stats or PrestoStats.
• Update record books and gather historical information regarding NAIA and NCAA eras for archival purposes.
• Operate computer programs including Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office programs.
• Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Sports Information Director.
Hours of Employment: Monday – Friday: Generally, working hours are 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The candidate must be flexible enough with their schedule and/or hours to meet the needs of the site and/or the University, including nights and weekends. May include some travel.
