POSITION SUMMARY
The Position of Sports Information Director is a 12-month, full-time position, providing oversight of all
athletics related information produced by Walla Walla University Athletics. This includes communication
between WWU Athletics and partner institutions, the Cascade Conference, the NAIA, the WWU campus &
community, and beyond. This position will also include a secondary role, which may be an administrative
duty, to be determined as it relates to Sports Information.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Produce, distribute and update the following:
o Athletics promotional materials.
o Pre-event publications and content.
o Roster, facility and schedule information.
o Media content to be used by athletics and media content as needed on WWU campus and
for the NAIA.
o Articles highlighting event results, athlete/team/staff highlights, in a timely and professional
manner.
• Administration of Game-Management & statistics operations and employees, including:
o Serve as liaison for the visiting teams and officials.
o Ticketing and concessions.
o Scheduling officials, stats crew, and photography.
o Overseeing Team on Duty.
o Securing game-day facilities.
• Mange social media content, production & distribution.
• Carry out CCC and NAIA Sports-Information and statistical obligations.
• Maintenance and promotion of statistics/team/honors information/reporting at the sport,
conference and NAIA levels.
• Stay current with knowledge of all required statistical software.
• Collaborate with Marketing and University Relations on external communications about
athletics.

• Manage and update the athletic department website, and web-content in a timely and efficient
manner.
• Oversight of game-day live streaming.
• Oversight of all game film uploaded to CCC required portals.
• Marketing for athletic events to students, faculty, staff, and community.
• Organize and track all Letter of Intent information.
• Assist the Director of Athletics in administrative tasks as assigned formally or informally, orally
or in writing.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
“Non-essential” If a duty takes up less than 5% of the employees’ time and is not viewed as a critical function
it is likely considered “non-essential” within the context of the ADA. These duties could be reassigned to
another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position.

Supervision Received: Employee receives general instructions regarding scope of and approach to projects
or assignments, but procedures and techniques are left to the discretion of the employee. Employees are
expected to operate with a reasonable degree of independence.
Supervision Given: Yes, 1.5 full-time equivalent employees, student workers, and interns.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Sports Management, Business, Physical
Education, or related area of study. Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Sports Management,
Business, Marketing, Physical Education, or related area of study, preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: N/A
• Experience/Skills
o Years of experience: 3-5 years, 5-10 years preferred.

ADDITIONAL JOB-SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: Proficiency with Microsoft Office & Photo-editing software; Understanding of sport statistics;
Ability to navigate web-based services. Practical knowledge and understanding of athletics.
Preferred: Proficiency with DakStats, Hudl, SideArm, Presto, Photoshop, & Box Out Sports; Experience with
scoreboards; Experience with web-site administration.
Additional Responsibilities: Assist with operation of: Alumni Golf Tournament, Athletics Banquet, Athletic
Fundraiser(s) Student-Athlete Retreat and Cross-departmental events.
WORK CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
Job Conditions
• Frequent: Working more than 40 hours/week, weekend work, computer use and speaking, reading
and understanding English.
• Occasional: Travel, on-call/after-hours work, fast-paced work, unscheduled interruptions and
driving/operating machinery or vehicles.
Lifting/Moving
• Occasional: Pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying 50-100 pounds.
Physical
• Frequent: Stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling, walking and/or running, moving from one
location to another, sitting, reaching, handling, fingering, and/or feeling i.e. computer use, standing,
talking and/or hearing and seeing/vision.
• Occasional: Climbing or balancing and using feet/legs to control equipment.
Environment
• Frequent: Indoor
• Occasional: Outdoor, wet/dry conditions, cold/heat, noise/vibration and fumes/dust/odors.
• Additional Conditions: This job involves presence at outdoor athletic venues, which may include
cold, wet, hot dry, windy, dusty, and occasionally smoky conditions. Additionally, the indoor athletic
events are often noisy and may be hot or cold.
