Job Description:
SUNY Delhi Athletics is searching to fill a full-time Sports Information Director (SID) position. SUNY Delhi sponsors 19 intercollegiate sports programs at the NCAA Division III level and is a member of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). This is a 11-month period of obligation, annually renewable position. Anticipated start date: August 1, 2024
Responsibilities: SUNY Delhi's Sports Information Director works in conjunction with the Athletics Department to provide home game day management of a comprehensive NCAA Division III athletics program. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with the Athletics Director, Associate AD and Assistant AD / Senior Woman Administrator and to provide comprehensive athletics related services including, statistics for home contests, and selected away competitions; properly maintain the SUNY Delhi Athletics website via Presto sports; write post-game press releases and game recaps; provide supervision of student-workers and game day operations assistants; and work collaboratively with SUNY Delhi head coaching staff for the benefit of promoting student-athletes participating on the College's sponsored athletic teams.
This position may also include other additional athletics related responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates should possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and both written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must be a role model and leader while in the Athletics related areas. The ability to multitask and handle a job with ongoing daily changes and basic supervisory skills a plus. General computer skills required including Microsoft software (Word, Office, Excel, etc.). Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of NCAA Division III regulations as they relate to sports information.
