Job Description:

SUNY Delhi Athletics is searching to fill a full-time Sports Information Director (SID) position. SUNY Delhi sponsors 19 intercollegiate sports programs at the NCAA Division III level and is a member of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). This is a 11-month period of obligation, annually renewable position. Anticipated start date: August 1, 2024

Responsibilities: SUNY Delhi's Sports Information Director works in conjunction with the Athletics Department to provide home game day management of a comprehensive NCAA Division III athletics program. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with the Athletics Director, Associate AD and Assistant AD / Senior Woman Administrator and to provide comprehensive athletics related services including, statistics for home contests, and selected away competitions; properly maintain the SUNY Delhi Athletics website via Presto sports; write post-game press releases and game recaps; provide supervision of student-workers and game day operations assistants; and work collaboratively with SUNY Delhi head coaching staff for the benefit of promoting student-athletes participating on the College's sponsored athletic teams.

This position may also include other additional athletics related responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• 1-2 years sports related experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication, computer, and web related skills.
• A valid driver's license and be insurable through the College.
• Strong understanding of current technology and social media

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Sports Information or athletics related field recommended
• Master's degree in Sports Information or related athletics communication field
• Professional COSIDA membership
• Experience with computerized live stats (Presto Stats, NCAA Live stats, Sidearm stats, stat crew, etc)
• Experience with Live Streaming events
• Experience with website maintenance

Candidates should possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and both written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must be a role model and leader while in the Athletics related areas. The ability to multitask and handle a job with ongoing daily changes and basic supervisory skills a plus. General computer skills required including Microsoft software (Word, Office, Excel, etc.). Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of NCAA Division III regulations as they relate to sports information.

Additional Information:

• Salary Range: $49,030.
• Senior Staff Assistant, SL-3, *11-month annual period of obligation (August 1 - June 30) with July non-obligation period.
• Anticipated start date: August 1 2024
• Work Schedule: Must be readily available during normal working hours for the college academic calendar. Position requires working various nights, and weekends with scheduled athletic competitions. Periodic travel to away athletic events as needed.
