Job Description:
The Sports Information Director (SID) will serve as the primary sports information director for the SUNY Delhi athletic department. This individual will oversee the College-wide and athletic department's efforts to operate the intercollegiate athletics program in compliance with all NCAA Division III, Conference, and Institutional rules and guidelines in regards to the required statistical reporting for all of SUNY Delhi's sponsored athletic programs. This position is responsible for the day to day operations of a comprehensive sports information program and for promoting a culture of compliance. This individual will serve as the Sports Information Director for the Department, working in conjunction with all college coaching staff and the college's communications department. This individual is required to have a close working relationship with athletic department staff and other key constituents. The Sports Information Director will also play a role in regards to departmental operations including game management. The Sports Information Director is expected to exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior in the execution of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement sports information systems for the athletic department.
- Manage all sports information functions including the preparation and dissemination of press releases, required statistics, and game results to the media, social media sites, the campus web site, and NCAA.
- Coordinate all press and media contacts with student-athletes and staff members.
- Develop and maintain the Athletic Department website communicating properly with the Head Coaches.
- Oversee home game management and operations, including managing student gameday workers hiring, scheduling and time sheet approval.
- Manage the training of all student staff in statistics, scoreboard operation, live stream production, public address and any other area of gameday functions that training is required.
- Run all statistical programs to ensure live stats are working and game stats are accurate.
- Facilitate all conference weekly award nominations.
- Assist with other department functions at the direction of the Director of Athletics.
- Serve on department and campus wide committees as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 1-2 years sports related experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication, computer, and web related skills.
- A valid driver's license and be insurable through the College.
- Strong understanding of current technology and social media
- Knowledge of statistics in multiple sports
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a related field
- Experience with NCAA Livestats
- Experience with Prestosports and Presto stats
- Experience managing student workers
Additional Information:
- Starting: August 1, 2025
- Salary: $52,388
- This is an 11-month position (August 1-June 30, July non-obligation)
