This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining the institution's Catholic identity and
its mission to empower graduates to transform society. As a member of the Newman community,
the staff member will join with the institution's sponsors, the Adorers of the Blood of Christ
(ASC Sisters), to witness God's love in Mission to empower others, foster oneness, celebrate life,
form right relationships, and walk as compassionate companions. Additionally, this position
contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development
of skills to engage with those of other faiths, cultures, or backgrounds.
Work Performed:
Media Duties:
1. Primary media contact for all men’s and women’s athletic teams.
2. Liaison between national, regional and local media for specific sports.
3. Operates all social media for the Athletic Department.
4. Update and maintain the athletic department website.
5. Produce game programs for all home events.
6. Maintain historical records.
7. Compile game-day statistics for all sports.
8. Edit and format sports photos.
9. Reporting scores to the conference and national offices as directed.
10. Submit all-conference forms and voting ballots as directed.
11. Assist with BlueFrame/MIAA Network streaming broadcast.
Administrative Duties:
12. Assist with athletic marketing and special promotions.
13. Administer the maintenance and current upkeep of the Sidearm athletics web site.
14. Attend all MIAA Conference, NCAA meetings/conventions, and CSC conventions as requested by the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communication.
15. Assist the Asst. AD for Marketing and Communication with organization, implementation, and department meetings.
16. Assist the Asst. AD for Marketing and Communication with organizational changes, support, and input in all areas of athletic game management.
17. Assist with all fundraising events.
18. Assist in execution of all athletic department game promotions.
19. Other committees and tasks as required by the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills/Training:
1. Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
2. Two years of experience in sports information field, which may include: as an assistant assigned to one or more sports; or as a graduate assistant/intern assigned to one or more sports or any combination thereof.
3. Must know Genius NCAA Live Stats software for soccer, volleyball, and basketball; PretsoStats for baseball and softball.
4. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
5. Video/Streaming experience.
6. Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
7. Some travel may be required, as well as working events on nights and weekends.
