| Position Summary |
The Sports Information Director is charged with managing sports information for 26 intercollegiate
Division III programs. Responsibilities include media relations, publications, statistics collection camp; reporting. Gives general administrative support to the department of athletics with particular emphasis on the areas of compliance and sports information. The Sports Information Director (SID) will also assist in oversight of student-athlete eligibility and ensure individual player and department compliance with ECAC, UCHC, NWGC, CWPA, NCAA, and Empire 8 rules, regulations, and bylaws. The SID will direct the sports information department and will be responsible for all sports information activities and staffing.

| Major Responsibilities |
A. Act as liaison to the Empire 8 commissioner and associate commissioner. Assists Athletic Director with written reports, departmental planning, and conference projects when needed.
B. Maintain computerized statistics for varsity sports and oversee exchange of statistical information between Utica University, conference headquarters (NCAA, Empire 8, ECAC, UCHC, NWGC, CWPA) related sport websites, and opponents. Responsible for staffing all home games with appropriate statisticians.
C. Develop and maintains individual sport record books. Maintain uticapioneers.com athletics web site, scores, team news, rosters, and schedules. Act as primary contact to all media, reporting box scores and game stories, responds to media requests, suggests feature story ideas, and encourages on-site event coverage. Produce hometown highlight releases and features, which promote student athlete accomplishments.
D. Contribute feature articles for alumni and Advancement office publications, edit sports pages of these publications, and update editorial and photos for university admissions publications. Develop sports marketing identity and ensures consistent usage in conjunction with public relations office. Write and oversee production of game-day programs for varsity teams.
E. Coordinate annual Hall of Fame and Senior Student Athlete Recognition. Develop special game-day events in conjunction with community organizations as well as Utica University’s Student Engagement and Advancement offices. Nominate student-athletes for university, community and national awards.
F. Assist the Director of Athletics with special projects and initiatives when necessary.
G. Perform occasional other related duties as assigned.
H. Maintain Athletic Department web page and social media pages.

| Education & Experience Qualifications |
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field plus a minimum of two years related experience required. Knowledge of Microsoft software, Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign and Photoshop experience required. Must have statistical experience in soccer, field hockey, volleyball, lacrosse, football and ice hockey. Must be proficient in NCAA statistical software including StatCrew and Genius Live Stats. Photography experience is helpful as head shots and action shots for the athletic web
page will be taken.

| Minimum Skills/Abilities |
Strong organizational and communication skills required. Detail oriented and able to work well under pressure. Must be able to work evenings and weekends during sport seasons.
