General Description of the Position
The Sports Information Director will be a key figure in managing and promoting the media presence of the D1 Athletics program at Delaware State University. This position involves overseeing the dissemination of information, managing media relations, and enhancing the overall visibility and branding of the Athletics program.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Develop and execute comprehensive sports information and media relations strategies.
2. Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date statistical records for teams and individual athletes.
3. Serve as the primary liaison between the Athletics program and media outlets.
4. Coordinate and manage press conferences, interviews, and media events.
5. Generate content for official Athletics program publications and digital platforms.

Qualification Standards
Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field. Master's degree
preferred
