QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of experience in sports information, advertising, marketing, media, promotions, public relations or a related field. Candidate should possess strong analytical and communication skills and have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various constituent groups. Demonstrated organizational skills; strong vision and leadership skills required. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University's Mission, and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sports Information Director is responsible for, but not limited to: Primary statistical contact for all Waynesburg varsity athletics. Content creator for waynesburgsports.com. Updating of rosters and schedules and developing gameday previews, recaps and feature releases. Regular interaction with athletic administration, the Presidents’ Athletic Conference and the NCAA, assist in developing awards, video compilation and other functions for SAAC end of year athletic award ceremony. Coordinate Waynesburg Athletics social media platforms. In-game responsibility include: live statistical compilation and coordination of Public Address Announcers, in-game music, live video streams, scoreboard operation, videoboard operation. Nomination of student-athletes for various athletic and academic awards (conference and national awards through CSC). Supervision of sports information graduate assistant and undergraduate student workers. Publication production of interactive and digital gameday programs, media guide and game stories and regular interactions with Department of Communication. Supervision and coordination of annual media days for all athletic programs. Work with Institutional Advancement and University Relations on Alumni Events and securing athletic sponsorships and ensuring Sports Information Office is active in all University fundraising initiatives. Other duties and functions of Sports Information Office as assigned by Director of Athletics.
