The University of Kentucky Athletics Communications and Public Relations (ACPR) department is seeking an Assistant Director. This position is the primary contact for men’s golf and serves as the secondary contact for men’s basketball. The incumbent is responsible for managing all communication and media relations efforts for men’s golf and assisting in men’s basketball. Duties include writing, editing, designing and distributing various publications (press releases, game notes), and assisting in the management of content on the official athletics website and all social media platforms. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and fostering relationships and generating story ideas for local, national and hometown media. They will also coordinate interviews between student-athletes, coaches and staff and local, regional and national media, manage press operations at home events and report team results and feature story ideas to local, regional and national media. Must comply with NCAA, SEC and University rules, regulations and policies.
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years working with an intercollegiate athletic department is preferred.
