Job Description:
The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department sponsors 20 NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic programs and competes in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), and is joining the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) in 26/27. Committed to the holistic development of student-athletes, the department fosters an environment that emphasizes academic achievement, competitive excellence, leadership, and community engagement. Student-athletes are encouraged to pursue success both on the field and in the classroom, supported by a team of dedicated coaches, athletic trainers, and staff who promote health, wellness, and sportsmanship. Athletics plays an integral role in student life and campus pride at SUNY Cobleskill, helping students build character and lifelong skills through teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
The Sports Information Director (SID) at SUNY Cobleskill serves as the primary communications and media liaison for the Fighting Tigers athletic department. This position leads the college's efforts in promoting and documenting its NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic programs while ensuring full compliance with North Atlantic Conference, NCAA, and SUNY Cobleskill reporting standards. The SID oversees the daily operations of a comprehensive sports information program, including statistics, game coverage, website and social media content, and multimedia services. The individual will work collaboratively with coaches, athletic department personnel, and the campus communications office to enhance the visibility and reputation of Cobleskill Athletics. Strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, a commitment to integrity and compliance, and active involvement in game day operations are essential. The SID is expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in representing SUNY Cobleskill and its student-athletes.
