Job Summary
The Senior Associate Director for Athletics – External Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance the visibility, reputation, and revenue of the athletics department. This position oversees fan engagement, media relations, community outreach, and corporate partnership initiatives to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and drive brand growth and community support.

Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
Five (5) years of progressive experience in athletics administration, media relations, marketing, or external operations.
Demonstrated leadership experience in collegiate athletics or professional sports environment.
May accept a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience working within NCAA Division II athletics.
Knowledge of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) implications and partnerships.
Familiarity with digital media platforms, design platforms, ticketing and CRM systems.
Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proven track record in fan engagement, branding, and revenue generation.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with media, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
Experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and decision-making capability.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
