The Colorado State University Department of Athletics sponsors 16 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports and competes as a member of theNCAADivision I-FBSand the Mountain West Conference. The University is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, 65 miles north of Denver. This position recruits, plans and manages non-athletic events at Canvas Stadium. This position supports the engagement and revenue goals established each year by the Department of Athletics.
This position assists with the supervision of hourly employees and freelancers. For the Engagement team, position leads the management of external stakeholders who are necessary or required for event operations such as local police/fire, ambulance services, catering services, and security services.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, hospitality management, communications, marketing, management, liberal arts, sociology, tourism or any other field related to duties and responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with internal and external constituencies
Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and oral/written/electronic communication skills
Proven ability as self-starter and problem solver
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Proficiency with technology and social media to enhance efficiency
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Excellent customer service skills
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date
Prior event management experience and/or Certified Meeting Planner (
CMP
) certification preferred
Experience with audio visual and event rentals/vendors preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of, and relevant ability with, culturally diverse communities among potential target and constituent populations.

- Collaborate with Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs to establish annual budget and revenue planning foreach fiscal year.
- Oversee budget for Stadium events including but not limited to freelance staff needs, new equipment, equipment repairs, parking expenses, facilities management expenses and other unique requirements needed to support events.
- Negotiate and execute written contracts with clients that will result in net revenue.
- Manage all incoming revenue and invoicing for the stadium event department including revenue and expenses for over 300 non-athletic annual events, which includes over 30,000 annual event participants for non-athletic events.
- Assist Assistant Athletic Director for Engagement in the promotion, marketing and selling of premium spaces to the public, corporations/businesses, civic organizations and

- entities locally and regionally for Football and Basketball gamedays.

- Manage, train, and coordinate hourly employees, interns, and volunteers for various roles within Marketing unit.
- Coordinate freelance staff as deemed necessary and coordinate freelance payments with Business Office
- Coordinate with Athletics Facilities Office and staff on daily basis regarding event schedule, building andequipment maintenance needs, and event staffing with internal and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all departmental, University, conference and NCAA procedures, rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned.
