Overview

Salem State University's Athletics/Operations team is seeking a passionate professional to fill a unique dual role that combines game day operations coordination with strength and conditioning leadership. The Staff Assistant for Facilities and Event Management/Head Coach has oversight and responsibilities for events and activities that occur in both indoor and outdoor athletics facilities. Primary responsibilities include game day management and sports performance programming. The staff assistant will also assist with coverage and facility needs for events athletics facilities as needed, including rental oversight. The staff assistant will supervise and mentor student staff who assist with game, event, and facility operations. This position is responsible for working with internal and external community members to assist with reservation and rental opportunities. This position will also serve as the head coach for intercollegiate strength and conditioning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on student-athlete success both on competition days and in training.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Exercise Science or similar field
  2. Experience in facility oversight, game management, or coaching in a collegiate setting or similar level of athletics
  3. Certified Strength and Conditioning Certification
  4. One or more years of experience designing and implementing strength and conditioning workouts for college or similar level of athletes

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in supervision of personnel
  2. Demonstrated ability to organize, and implement a master calendar of events
