Campus Health (CH) is a multi-specialty ambulatory college health clinic providing quality, and affordable health care for eligible students and spouses. Annually, CH has more than 80,000 patient encounters, which includes Primary Care and Women’s Health as well as specialty clinics in sports medicine, orthopedics, gynecology, physical therapy, counseling and psychological services, travel clinic and allergy clinic. Weekend acute care is provided from 8-5 PM. On site ancillary services include pharmacy, OTC pharmacy, Student Stores pharmacy, medical laboratory, and radiology.
Campus Health has been continuously accredited since 1986 by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. All personnel are trained in the concepts and principles of Performance Improvement and serve as team members and leaders in shaping and defining the organization as it strives to provide quality and safe care.
Campus Health collaborates with Student Wellness and Campus Recreation and other Student Affairs partners to provide education and outreach to assist in keeping the campus population healthy.
Education and research comprise another important function of CH. CH provides clinical rotations and practicums for students in the School of Education, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work and Public Health, Department of Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Health and Radiology. In addition, CH serves as a research site for a number of faculty and graduate student grants and contracts, where CH staff participates with the principal investigators across a variety of medical specialties.
| | Position Summary |
The Staff Dietitian for Men’s Basketball serves as the head dietitian for Men’s basketball and will assist the nutrition staff in providing services for selected student-athletes and teams. This position will have oversight over all aspects of medical and performance nutrition for Men’s basketball. Responsibilities include: providing nutrition services to student-athletes; providing individual nutrition counseling to students and student-athletes and sport specific nutrition education to teams and staff; assisting with organization and supervision of Training Table meals and fueling stations; working with food service staff to plan nutritionally complete meals, pre-competition and recovery meals; researching, evaluating, and recommending appropriate nutritional supplements with regard to NCAA rules and regulations; collaborating with other members of the sports medicine staff and sports performance team assisting with management of care and performance. Communicating with and presenting to coaches, students, staff, and administration on nutritionally relevant topics; educating and mentoring interns and volunteer staff; lecturing and teaching across campus both inside and outside of the classroom setting; managing and distributing Gatorade products, snacks and other supplements to aid in fueling, prevention and recovery; collaborating with other staff Dieticians, and members of the performance team to provide nutritional services across the athletic department. This position will be supervised by the Director of Sports Nutrition.
| | Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.

1.Registered dietitian (with active registration through Commission in Dietetic Registration) and ability to obtain North Carolina State RD Licensure within 3 months of date of hire
2.Compliance with FERPA and HIPAA.
3.Knowledge of rules and regulations of athletic governing bodies: e.g., National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), regarding banned drugs and restricted substances.
4.Communicates effectively one-to-one, in small groups and in public speaking contexts
5.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Canva, and Powerpoint
6.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with culturally diverse students and staff.
7.Certification as a CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics) or willingness to obtain certification is highly desirable.
8.Ability to work a non-traditional work week.
