Repetitive motion. Job-related travel. Standing or walking with objects up to 10 lbs. Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects.
30 hours per week. Mostly weekdays; evenings and weekends as required
We are seeking a qualified and motivated
PRN
Athletic Trainer to join our team on a part-time basis to provide athletic training services to Morehead State University. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. You will work closely with coaches, athletic directors, and healthcare professionals to ensure the health and safety of athletes across all sports.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site athletic training services during practices, games, and other athletic events as needed.
Evaluate and manage athletic injuries, including acute and chronic conditions, and develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
Implement injury prevention programs and educate athletes on proper techniques to minimize the risk of injury.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation activities.
Collaborate with team physicians, coaches, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication regarding athlete health.
Assist with the coordination of referrals to physicians or other healthcare specialists when necessary.
Support the development and implementation of emergency action plans for all athletic venues.
Stay current with best practices and advancements in athletic training and sports medicine.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
Board of Certification (
BOC
) certified Athletic Trainer.
Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Kentucky.
CPR
/
AED
certification is required.
Previous experience working with collegiate athletes is preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to varying schedules, including evenings and weekends.
