Apply NowThe Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking hard working, responsible, motivated candidates for an entry-level, associate position supporting the strength and conditioning program. This position will work under the direction of the Director of Strength and Conditioning and will be exposed to professional aspects of collegiate athletics strength activities in a progressive learning mode. The Associate will work primarily with the NCAADivision I women's basketball program and may serve other sports as necessary. Sample duties include:
The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge related to S&C; good database and analytical skills; and strong teaching, motivational, and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Must be available and flexible to work evenings and/or weekends at all assigned practices and workouts.
Candidates will be required to have and maintain current certification through a nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification program in accordance withNCAArequirements.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
Position Details : Structured similar to a post-grad internship. Hourly pay (approx. $2,200/month) plus overtime pay; receives vacation/sick time off; full benefits package.
Term of Appointment : six months, July 2024- December 2024
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the CSCCa.
CPR/AEDand First Aid certified.
Preferred Qualifications
Work experience with strength and conditioning for competitive athletes.
Strength and conditioning services that supported collegiate or professional women's basketball.
Experience with GPS and Force Plate technology.
