POSITION SUMMARY
This position will oversee all of our student-athletes in regards to their strength and conditioning in
accordance with the values and mission of Walla Walla University.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement in-season, and off-season program for individual skill development.
•
• Provide appropriate information, training, and supervision athletic development, injury prevention,
and general fitness activities of the student-athletes.
• Work with AD, and/or AT on best practices for student’s athletes strength and conditioning.
• Work with AD, and/or Champions of Character Liaison to identify, and engage student-athletes in
service projects throughout the community.
• Develop, and oversee implementation of appropriate, effective, and compelling plans for team success
and injury prevention during individual contests, and throughout the season.
• Attend coach staff meetings, and one-on-one meetings as scheduled.
• Develop appropriate meaningful relationships with student-athletes.
• Engage student-athletes in relevant aspects of student success.
• Cultivate a team culture centered on mutual respect, and trust.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports management, health sciences, physical education, exercise
science, or fitness related field or comparable experience. Post-professional degree preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: CPR
• Experience/Skills
o Years of experience: 1-3 years, 3-5 years preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Use of MS Outlook is required.
WORK CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
Job Conditions:
• Frequent: Weekend Work, On-call/after-hours work, Computer use and speaking, reading, and
understanding English.
• Occasional: Travel, Fast-paced work, unscheduled interruptions, and driving/operating machinery or
vehicles.
Lifting/Moving: Pushing 100+ pounds Occasional: Pulling, Lifting and Carrying 50-100 pounds.
Physical:

• Frequent: Walking and/or running, moving from location to another, Standing, Sitting, Reaching,
handling, fingering, and/or feeling, Talking and/or hearing, using feet/legs to control equipment and
seeing/vision.
Environment:
• Frequent: Indoor, Cold/Heat, Noise/Vibration.
• Occasional: Fumes/Dust/Odors.
Equipment: Use of computer, copy and fax, use of golf equipment, occasional driving of motor vehicles.
