Job Description:
The Strength & Conditioning Coach helps direct and provide leadership for the strength & conditioning program. This includes ensuring a safe and effective working environment in the weight room and conditioning areas, strength and conditioning program development and implementation for all sports, and working closely with head coaches of each sport and the sports medicine program within university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Expectations include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for overall strength and conditioning program development, execution, and instruction as it pertains to student-athlete sports performance and physical well-being, including:
Responsible for role modeling behaviors and leadership for student-athletes.
Support student-athlete academic and athletic excellence, leadership development, and community engagement.
Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA and Gulf South Conference and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletics program.
Assist in team development, including establishing goals, objectives, and values for the program consistent with the mission of the Athletics Department.
Assist in motivating student-athletes to perform to maximum levels.
Assist with the conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with the training unit to ensure that student-athletes are physically prepared for competition.
Support the vision of the CBU Athletics Department.
Other duties as assigned.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine and must be able to develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students while interacting successfully with department personnel and the College community.
Requirements:
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specific to this position. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Must have or obtain AED/CPR certification, and be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred qualifications include aMaster's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and four (4) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specific to this position.
