Lane College, NCAA Division II, located in Jackson, Tennessee invites applicants for the position of Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Athletics. Lane College is a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
Responsibilities:
Conducts all aspects of the program within the rules, regulations, and procedures encompassed in the NCAA, the athletic conference, College, and athletic department policies and procedures manual, with an understanding that failure to do so may lead to sanctions up to and including termination.
Utilization and understanding of the NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic programs.
Designs and implements strength training and conditioning programs in-season, off-season, and pre-season for all school-sanctioned male and female athletic programs in a manner that reflects research-driven practices and our country's Long-Term Athletic/Fitness Development Model.
Works in cooperation with the sports medicine or athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes.
Facilitates a collaborative relationship among sport coaches, sports medicine, and the strength and conditioning staff.
Designs and implements policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards and Guidelines.
Develops systems for tracking athlete attendance and athlete progress in conjunction with the sport coaches.
Conducts an annual needs-analysis for each sport team in conjunction with the sport coach and the team's athletic trainer at the conclusion of each sport season.
Annually conduct and review a departmental risk management plan.
Completes an annual budgetary proposal for the program that includes routine maintenance, purchase of new equipment, and staffing needs.
Determines and reinforces expectations for athlete conduct that mirror the school's expectations for curricula and extra-curricular activities, as stated in the school's Student Code of Conduct.
Conducts an annual evaluation of departmental staff, including the design of professional development activities.
Performing other related duties as assigned.

You will be expected to abide by the NCAAs Article 2: Principles for Conduct of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Athletics Department Code of Conduct. Adherence to all guidelines, policies and procedures contained in the NCAA Division II Manual, Athletic Conference Policies and Procedures Manuals, and Lane College Athletic Department Policies and Procedures/Compliance Manuals in the performance of the responsibilities outlined in your positions job description will be expected and enforced.
Creating an atmosphere of compliance, accurately completing required Lane College and NCAA forms and reports and reporting any suspected violation of NCAA rules and regulations are expected and required.
All athletics staff and coaches are expected to act professionally to foster an atmosphere conducive to student athlete well-being, a safe and welcoming environment, high academic achievement, and a highly competitive athletic experience for our student athletes.
Failure to meet these expectations may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
