The Student Assistant for Athletic Training will be responsible for the organization and management of athletic training services to various UIW student-athletes and teams under the supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.
• Assist the sports medicine staff as needed to aide in delivery of athletic training services various athletes/teams.• Manage, organize, and maintain assigned athletic training rooms, equipment, supplies, and inventory.• Assist in the preparation/breakdown of practices/competitions related to athletic training services.• Communicate with sports medicine staff and its inter-professional members assigned to athletic training rooms.• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Commitment to student-athlete welfare and student development for the athletic training program. Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data, and prepare reports. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program.
