Job Summary

The Student Assistant will support Georgia Southern University Athletics Sports Medicine department on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2024. Georgia Southern Athletics sponsors 17 NCAA Division I sports.

_ Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. _

Responsibilities

• Assists the Sports Medicine staff in daily practice and game coverage for designated sports
• Assist certified athletic trainers with field setup, breakdown, and cleanliness
• Aid in student athlete hydration by preparing, cleaning, refilling, and distributing water bottles during practices and workouts
• Effectively relay student athletes' injury and illness concerns to certified athletic trainers
• Maintain confidentiality of student athlete health information and participation
• Assist with facility maintenance and cleanliness as needed
• Uphold professional appearance and conduct at all times
• Adhere to rules and regulations of the Sports Medicine staff, Georgia Southern University, Sun Belt Conference, and NCAA

Shift Specifics

• Up to 20 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability
• Availability may be required during evenings, weekends, and holidays
• May require travel

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary

$7.25 per hour

_ This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis. _
