PROSPECTIVE STUDENT ATHLETE TRANSFER CREDIT EVALUATIONS

• Lead efforts to develop and implement a transfer evaluation process for student-athletes in close consultation with campus partners.
• After completion of transfer credit evaluation, provide an assessment of athletic academic eligibility to campus partners.
• Collaborate with academic departments and the student athletes Undergraduate Advising Director (UAD) to determine which courses can fulfill university and program requirements .
• Communicate results of transfer credit evaluation to campus partners.
• Once a student athlete has matriculated, post the appropriate credits to the student athlete’s record and transcript.
• Evaluate and streamline the overall transfer credit process for Stanford; look to implement new technologies to improve the process.
• Graduate transfer student-athlete support:
  
  • Consult with coaches and prospective graduate transfers regarding the graduate admissions process and available graduate programs.
  • ○Work with the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) and individual graduate programs to assess the feasibility of late applicants.

NCAA CERTIFICATION & REPORTING

• NCAA Certification

  • After certification by UADs for student-athletes each quarter, the NCAA Compliance & Transfer Officer will review all certifications for accuracy before submitting them to the NCAA Certifying Officer for final review.
  • Maintain a database shared with the UADs who support student-athletes and with DAPER Compliance regarding ongoing eligibility concerns.
  • Work with UADs to resolve issues, concerns, etc. for competing student-athletes while adhering to University policies and procedures.
  • Consult with the UADs who support student-athletes and with Compliance in the development of NCAA academic waivers and/or exceptions.
  • Assist NCAA Certification Officer with any technical Axess maintenance and system enhancement requests related to NCAA.

• Support the DAPER Compliance team when they submit Academic Progress Report (APR) & Graduate Success Report (GSR)

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

• Work during holiday closures may be required based on need.
• Manage an area or program in student services, analyze effectiveness, and make final decisions on program eligibility.
• Engage in critical analysis of student and program concerns to resolve substantial issues which may span multiple areas, using advanced technical and professional knowledge.
• Interpret and implement university policy related to academic policies; oversee the implementation of policies and practices for a student population or school.
• Analyze and develop report requirements, portals and student facing communications.
• Evaluate and determine recommendations on technology resources, negotiate with resources options and vendors.

• Provide consulting advice to internal and external organizations; act as subject matter expert in a specialized field.
• Oversee key processes, including contribution and direction on policy and program content.
• May direct the work of other staff; contribute to development of staff training programs.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $64,000 to $110,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must have significant experience working with NCAA rules and regulations in regards to academic eligibility.
• Must have had previous work experience with transfer credit policies and procedures.
• Preferred to have knowledge regarding APR and GSR reporting.
• Strong understanding of Stanford degree requirements for undergraduate students.
• Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and all levels of management.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills to review and analyze complex information.
• Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced customer service skills.
• Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
• Understanding of financial transactions.
• Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

Working Conditions:

• The preferred work schedule for this position is hybrid, 2 days onsite, however, we are open to remote candidates that meet or exceed the job qualifications.

Physical Requirements*:

• Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
• Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
