UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and Big XII Conference member, is seeking applications for the position of Student-Athlete Mental Health Psychologist.
As a Student-Athlete Mental Health Psychologist within UCF Athletics, the position will serve in a leadership capacity in the mental health / wellness of student-athletes representing 16 NCAA Division I sports within UCF, Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. In this capacity, the recommended candidate will use their knowledge / skills / abilities in the area of psychology to research and solve problems, provide assessments and recommendations for appropriate treatments, as well as diagnose and treat various mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
Responsibilities include areas associated with, but are not limited to:
Student-athlete counseling
Student-athlete education
Performance enhancement
Minimum qualifications: Doctoral Degree (Either a PhD, PsyD, or EdS) in the field of Psychology and eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida. Prefer minimum two (2) years counseling experience working with student-athletes or related populations. Strong attention to detail and communication (written / verbal) skills also preferred. Due to the nature / scope of athletics and athletics events, position often requires work on evenings, weekends, and holidays, in addition to occasional travel. As a UCF Athletics staff member, the selected candidate will be a person of integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules as they apply to the UCF Athletics program.
