POSITION DETAILS

 

The Student Athletics Trainer will report to the Student Athletics Manager.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Student Athletics Trainer will be responsible for the following duties:
•    Assist in the management and administration of quality Athletic Training Program for all varsity athletics programs
•    Provide oversight of the Athletics Training and Strength & Conditioning Services
•    Oversee implantation of medical services for student athletes,--during practice and competitions throughout the academic year
•    Assist in the preparation and maintenance appropriate athletic injury care records and reports as required following all NCAA, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), and National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) guidelines.
•    Adhere to and enforce all medical policies and procedures of Hunter College, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC).
•    Assist and oversee First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and certification session for staff
•    Support coaches in developing and implementing physical training programs that enhance athlete performance and safety.
•    Represent Hunter College in interactions with medical professionals, insurance companies, hospitals as necessary and appropriate.
•    Manage and evaluate multiple teams performance to assist with ensuring effective operations and adherence to training standards.
•    Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the overall mission of the athletics program, including maintaining flexible work hours to meet the needs of practices and competitions.
•    Organize and coordinate the ordering of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring purchases fit within budget limits and program needs.
